Have WWE Just Scrapped THIS NXT Star's Main Roster Call-Up?

NXT's women's division won't be losing one of its top performers after all.

Candice LeRae will NOT be joining WWE's main roster anytime soon, according to a new report from PW Insider.

The same source had previously stated that LeRae would join the SmackDown roster to help pad out house show line-ups this week, potentially leading to a full-time call-up, but there has been a change of plans and she's back to working the NXT loop.

Candice's main roster debut came in this year's women's Royal Rumble. She has since shuffled back to her peripheral developmental role, and remains a supporting character in the ongoing Tommaso Ciampa/Johnny Gargano saga.

While LeRae barely wrestles on NXT television, perhaps it's for the best that she hasn't joined Raw or SmackDown. Recent call-ups have become aimless wanderers. This is particularly true of the women, as Nikki Cross and Lacey Evans currently find themselves lost without a purpose, and a similar fate would likely befall LeRae - at least in the interim.

Nonetheless, it'd be great to see WWE find something more substantial for Candice to do. She's one of the better wrestlers in NXT's women's division, but the likes of Io Shirai, Kairi Sane, and Shayna Baszler have a monopoly on the spotlight.
