Huge Backstage WWE Heat Between Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax?

Friends turn to enemies following social media barbs.

Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax are currently feuding over the Raw Women's Championship, but new rumours suggest their rivalry may extend beyond WWE's kayfabe world.

They started a fortnight ago, when Jax unfollowed Bliss and deleted several photos of them together from her social media accounts, then liked an Instagram comment disparaging the champion.

On top of this, 'The Irresistible Force' took a direct shot at Alexa on Twitter:-

So far, so tame, but the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer has since waded in. In a post on F4WOnline's message board, he stated that the social media beef is not a work, and Nia's actions have created "real-life heat" with Bliss and company officials.

The duo will contest the Raw Women's Title at Extreme Rules next Sunday (15 Jul). They have worked together extensively over the past year, both as allies and rivals, though their social media activity always portrayed a strong behind-the-scenes bond. If Meltzer is correct, then this is clearly no longer the case.

It's all conjecture at the moment, and should therefore be taken with a hint of cynicism. There's every chance Jax and Bliss are working the audience (and Meltzer) for extra heat, but the sport's most respected journalist getting involved does suggest otherwise.
