Hulk Hogan Set For NWO Reunion On Monday's WWE Raw

The band is getting back together at least for one night...

We have reported for weeks about how Hulk Hogan will the be the guest star on Raw this coming Monday for his 61st birthday on August 11th. It was promoted by WWE on Raw, so Hogan's presence will be a big part of Monday's show in Portland. There will also be some surprises because WWE hasn't advertised other special names for Raw although it was teased by Scott Hall on Twitter. It's now been confirmed by PWInsider that both Scott Hall and Kevin Nash have been booked for Raw. As wrestling fans know, those two along with Hogan started the New World Order in WCW in July of 1996 and went on to dominate WCW for years as the top heel faction in the company. Once WCW died, they brought the NWO to WWE for a brief run in 2002 that didn't really go very well. Still, those three guy are always going to be linked together thanks to the success that the group had in their initial run. Other names scheduled for Hogan's birthday celebration are Ric Flair, Paul Orndorff and Jimmy Hart, who usually travels with Hogan whenever he does appearances. There are other big names expected to be there, so it should be a fun atmosphere to see who might show up. Hogan's been doing some media appearances of late to promote his appearance on Raw, SummerSlam and of course WWE Network. He was on the Matthew Aaron Show podcast on Tuesday and talked about wanting to wrestle one more match. €œBrother, my goal is to perform in the ring again, it's not if, it's when. I've been training like crazy, my back doesn€™t hurt at all, my back's perfect, now I've finally got by back straightened out and I'm really trying to get myself into shape because if you step inside that WWE ring you better bring it, and last time I brought it they begged me to take it back. If I get in there I want to make sure I'm ready to go and I give them something to remember me by, so my goal in life is to perform again in that WWE ring.€ It's nice to have goals. It's also good to know that his back is in much better shape. Since WrestleMania would obviously be the right place for one final match, he's got over eight months to train for it. He went on to say that he was in the best shape of his life, which is pretty ridiculous although Hogan has had a history of saying ridiculous things at times. There's no way that a nearly 61 year old man is in better shape than he was 30 years ago, but that's Hogan for ya. That's not to say that a match will never happen. It might. It's just silly to hear him say he's in the best shape of his life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID4fbKa9UxA Another noteworthy item from the interview was that he thinks he shouldn't have done the Leg Drop a a finishing move because of the pain that the move caused. Since he always talked about how he had the largest arms in the world he believes he should have used a sleeper as the finisher. That wouldn't have been smart. It's a boring hold. At least the Leg Drop was something he could do to anybody. Once again, Hogan returns to Raw next Monday night for a birthday celebration. Will Virgil aka "Vincent" be invited too? Tune in to find out!
