IMPACT Wrestling Announces Return Of Knockouts Knockdown
Mercedes Martinez among the names confirmed for Knockouts Knockdown's return.
As announced by Gail Kim and the returning Christy Hemme, IMPACT Wrestling is scheduled to promote the first Knockouts Knockdown since 2017 on 9 October, with the IMPACT Plus special being recorded during IMPACT's tapings between 17 and 19 September.
The news comes packed with announcements for the show. Deonna Purrazzo will defend the Knockouts Title against a mystery opponent, a knockouts Monster's Ball will be held in memory of the late Daffney, and numerous outside talents will be debuting/returning to IMPACT. The most notable of these is former NXT star Mercedes Martinez, though Lady Frost and Renee Michelle have also been confirmed.
In addition, as well as Hemme, a former Knockouts/Knockouts Tag Team Champion has been confirmed to return, though they are yet to be revealed.
As part of IMPACT's One Night Only series, Knockouts Knockdown was held annually between 2013 and 2017, providing many with their first mainstream television experience. It typically saw a number of qualifying matches, culminating in a Royal Rumble-esque match to crown that year's Queen Of The Knockouts.
Also confirmed is that the 9 October special will feature a female ring announcer, referees, and commentators.
