Independent wrestler Patrick Scott has seemingly hung up his boots ahead of joining the WWE creative team.

As first reported by BodySlam.net, Scott has been hired as a writers assistant for the SmackDown brand. This report notes that the 27-year-old is due to start work for WWE later today.

The North Carolina native does have some previous with WWE, having worked a couple of enhancement matches - as pictured above - for NXT in 2017 and 2018. In addition to that, NXT coach Steve Corino was one of Scott's trainers.

This past weekend saw Premier Wrestling Federation give Patrick Scott a send-off, with Scott leaving his boots in the ring during the PWF Goodbye Crystal Coast event.

Having made his debut in 2017, Patrick Scott has competed for the likes of the PWF, Deadlock Pro, Pro Wrestling Turbo, Premiere Wrestling Xperience, and also worked a couple of AEW dates in 2022.

As per Scott's X post, it sounds he'll be making a formal announcement on his pro wrestling future in the coming days.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
