Garbage cans. Mouse traps. Broken glass. Barbed wire.

Barbed wire. Barbed wire. Barbed wire. Barbed wire. A king-sized bed of barbed wire. Table bumps. Chains. Ice picks. Wooden boards. Jon Moxley Vs. Kenny Omega may yet live on as the most brutal match in pro wrestling history, certainly in the mainstream: the crowd, at various points, were reduced to a genuinely revolted hush. This split reaction was echoed on social media.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a wrestler in his own right, is often Dave Meltzer's conscience, as it pertains to New Japan Pro Wrestling's disturbing trend of excessive, dangerous neck bumps. He tweeted "This is not my cup of tea," which should, but absolutely will not, reverse the F4W in AEW's pocket!1 narrative. The tall and intrepid Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com echoed this sentiment, tweeting "This match isn't for me."

Across the entire Internet, really, very few people knew how to take it, but everybody, seemingly, is talking about it.

Ultimately, this was a profoundly admirable bit of business that was objectively acclaimed and subjectively despised, often by the same people who watched and will never forget it.
