Is WWE's John Cena Considering A Heel Turn?

Big John answers the question at Comic-con.

John Cena Heel Turn
WWE

I think we all know the answer to this one already.

John Cena was in attendance at San Diego's Comic-con to promote his upcoming film Bumblebee, and was asked for his thoughts on playing an antagonist - and whether this could parlay into his gradually-dwindling in-ring career:

I have been the good guy and that kind of went into my films so far, and now it doesn't seem like my character in WWE will ever evolve into that bad guy role that perhaps a lot of people have wanted; so this is kind of a way for my fans from that aspect of my career to see that side of me.

Don't expect heel John Cena in WWE - that's Inside Baseball talk for some of you - but it means bad guy John Cena isn't happening there, so this is that chance for me.

Over the past few years, erstwhile WWE babyface Cena's head has been turned by Hollywood, and his presence on the silver screen is becoming more common than in the squared circle. Based on his comments, it seems from this point that his increasingly fleeting WWE runs will consist of little more than going through the motions. Super.

Bumblebee, the latest film in the Transformers franchise, is scheduled for release 21 December. Sadly, John Cena does not play the role of a robot called Prototype.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
