Jeff Hardy Re-Signs With TNA Impact Wrestling

Jeff won't be returning to WWE.

Bad news Hardy fans, Jeff Hardy has re-signed with TNA Impact Wrestling, with Dixie Carter breaking the news on Twitter "Thrilled to announce @JeffHardyBrand has signed new contract @IMPACTWRESTLING & will kickoff #IMPACTonPop tonight." There had been some speculation that Hardy was eyeing a WWE return ahead of the news. Additionally, WWE were said to be impressed by the success of The Dudley Boyz return, which apparently made them think about cashing in on bringing other nostalgia acts back. Jeff was linked with being on the company's radar. But those in the know always felt it was unlikely: Jeff has had his personal issues and would have represented a risk for WWE. And even though he expressed interest in a big league return, he knew that TNA was a far easier schedule for his battered body. So, it isn't that surprising that the two sides made the deal. As for the timing of Dixie's statement, this is all about damage control after the AJ Styles fiasco. According to their version of events, they almost had a deal to sign AJ, and came out looking like sore losers when they then released a bitter statement on the eve of his WWE debut. By crowing about Jeff Hardy, they are trying to make it look like they still matter in the wrestling industry. However, the fact is, Jeff is sixteen years removed from his peak period of fame.
