John Cena Injured At WWE Live Event (Video)

Cena is hurt and was clearly struggling after a head bump.

https://twitter.com/c_hawk1994/status/640000490013650944 John Cena was injured in a match against Kevin Owens at the WWE live event in Hampton, Virginia on Friday night. He took a bad landing on to his head or face, and was clearly hurt in the aftermath. The seriousness is unknown at this stage, but it was bad enough to force the referee to throw up the X symbol and have trainers come to check on the franchise star. If it is a head injury, it could involve missing further ring time. Cena's obvious pain was caused by a botched Infrared, a sunset flip type move which he has been doing in recent months. He landed badly from it and immediately alerted Owens and the referee to his pain. The referee then did the X arm signal to alert medical staff. The trainers checked on John, and then he finished the match. However, after the bell, he left the ring and went straight to the back. That's unusual for Cena, as he'll tend to stick around ringside for high fives and celebrations. This time he was in obvious pain and didn't hang around. Gauging the seriousness at this stage is difficult. He did continue the match, and even went through a table, before getting the win over Owens. WWE can't afford to lose a star of Cena's calibre from the active roster right now, not with the company heading into the poor performing autumn season. If Cena is out injured, it will be a massive blow. For future, he'd be well advised to tone his ring style back a bit, he's been increasingly ambitious in recent months, with not just the infrared, but things like springboard stunners. He's looked one botch away from an injury for a while now.
