The Wrestling Observer are reporting that John Cena will be back on WWE television before Survivor Series on November 19.

After losing to Roman Reigns at No Mercy, Cena cut a disconsolate figure and even hinted that he was stepping away from WWE for a while after the pay-per-view. On Raw Talk, John said Reigns had become the man, and the appearance had fans talking on social media about a possible Cena retirement.

The truth is that Cena is currently on set filming The Pact and Transformers spin off Bumblebee right now. His latest WWE sabbatical looks set to be a short one.

There has been talk in the Observer that Cena will collide with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34. If that's the case, then this could be 'Taker's final in-ring appearance for WWE. The company are certainly setting up for something important, because Cena's puppy dog eyes at No Mercy and subsequent comments can't be coincidental.

As for Survivor Series, who knows what role John Cena will play. The most likely scenario is that he'll either captain his own team or be part of one alongside Reigns.
