Jon Moxley Appears At NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15

Jon Moxley returned to NJPW with a pretaped Wrestle Kingdom 15 promo.

Jon Moxley made his first New Japan Pro Wrestling appearance since February 2020 today, as the reigning IWGP United States Champion's pretaped promo aired before KENTA battled Satoshi Kojima at Wrestle Kingdom 15.

Standing in an empty ring presumably in NJPW's LA Dojo, Moxley spoke on his absence, calling himself the promotion's "boogeyman." While many men have fought over the US Title's right-to-challenge contract in his absence, those who hoped and prayed he would never return weren't going to get off lightly, adding that he would soon come for whoever won between Kojima and KENTA.

KENTA was originally booked to put his briefcase on the line against Juice Robinson. Injury forced a change of plan, and in came the third generation's Kojima, who was felled by KENTA decisively, eating the pinfall after the Go to Sleep.

KENTA has spent much of the past few months chasing Moxley's shadow, with the US Champion hindered by US/Japan travel restrictions and an AEW contract clause preventing NJPW appearances in the United States. There's currently no word on whether or not the two promotions have struck an agreement to bring this seemingly inevitable match forward as of yet.
