Kevin Owens Challenges The Undertaker For WWE WrestleMania 32

WWE considering Owens versus Taker?

Kevin Owens has challenged The Undertaker for WrestleMania. Speaking with 'Title Match Wrestling' to promote the Royal Rumble, Owens declared that "I'd like to throw my name in the hat and see if he's still the phenom that he claims to be." He also put over Taker's legendary accomplishments, saying; "WrestleMania is synonymous with the Undertaker, regardless of what's happened with the streak, I still think it's Undertaker's show." Owens' desire to face Taker isn't just linked to the prestige, it is also linked to the money. It is one of the best spots in the business to go against the icon at WrestleMania. The co-main event aspect and the fact it is The Undertaker means that it is always a match that accounts for drawing at the annual Mania shows. But would WWE and The Undertaker want to put Owens in that spot? Probably not. Owens has been mainly a mid-carder in WWE so far. He's a great worker and talker, but he doesn't quite have the star power. Think about it, Taker had been scheduled for John Cena at WrestleMania. That was the calibre of name he was looking at. Owens isn't there yet. However, with few other options available on the full time roster, maybe WWE would be tempted to put Owens against Taker. The heel / face dynamic is right and it would certainly be a good match. All should become clearer in the coming weeks, but the safest bet is still on a more established name going against the Deadman.
