King Barrett Returns To WWE Action On This Week's SmackDown

One of life's great mysteries is finally solved...

King Barrett returned to action at this week's SmackDown taping after a baffling absence from the ring. It turns out that the King of the Ring has been rehabbing his neck after suffering "a little bit of nerve damage, but nothing major." Fans were rightly concerned about five-time Intercontinental Champion's absence due to the fact WWE made absolutely no reference to it either on commentary or online. They could have kept us up to date, at least. https://twitter.com/DSpicacci/status/676942325050974209?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw Barrett was missing from Sunday's TLC pay per view event where he failed to take part in any of the League of Nation's matches, while he was also nowhere to be seen when Rusev and Alberto Del Rio attacked Roman Reigns in the main event. The King of the Ring was also missing on Monday's RAW as he didn't accompany RuRu and Del Rio in their tag team match, while he once again failed to show up for the interference at the main event between Sheamus and new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Reigns. However, The King returned to the ring as part of an angle with the League of Nations. He accompanied Sheamus, Rusev and Del Rio in attacking Ryback in Newark, New Jersey. The presumably means the awfully pointless 'filler' feud between the Bulgarian Brute and The Big Guy rumbles on... Oh joy...
