Dave Meltzer has offered a fresh update when it comes to a potential John Cena appearance at WrestleMania XL.

'The Face that Runs the Place' spent the summer colliding with The Bloodline before eventually losing to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel 2023. And with the Road to WrestleMania XL now very much underway, fans have understandably been wondering whether Cena could dust off his sneakers again for another 'Show of Shows' bout at this year's event.

Well, as Meltzer stated in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been a bit of talk about Cena showing up at 'Mania 40 in Philadelphia. However, "It’s basically up to his acting schedule and if there is something going on."

If Cena does have to shoot something around that time, he could still appear inside of Lincoln Financial Field on April 6 or 7. But likely wouldn't be doing anything that is classed as a risk.

Meltzer was also told that if an appearance does come together, "the idea is to do something fun, short and memorable and with substance."

So, if 'Super Cena' does show up at the event, it's safe to assume he won't be working a thirty minute classic, and will likely be adding something similar to his quick 'Mania 34 fight with The Undertaker or 'Mania 35 'Doctor of Thuganomics' return to his long list of 'Mania Moments.
