According to Wrestling Observer Radio, one of the sport's top young stars is on his way to WWE, as Lio Rush is coming to the NXT brand.

Though Rush has yet to take the physical examinations required of all incoming WWE talent, his signing is considered imminent, bringing months of rumors to a close. Rush had reportedly fielded multiple offers, but was most interesting in joining WWE.

Youth is very much on Rush's side, as the former Ring of Honor and EVOLVE Wrestling star is only 22 years old. Still, in his three years of wrestling, he's accomplished quite a bit, using his high-flying style to stand out in a competitive independent scene. Just this past May, Rush defeated Joe Gacy to win the CZW World Heavyweight Championship, and while he lost the belt to Davey Richards later in the month, it only fueled rumors that a major signing lay in Rush's future.

When Rush joins the NXT brand, he'll be reunited with a former tag team partner in "The Velveteen Dream" Patrick Clark. Together, the two men held the Maryland Championship Wrestling Tag Team Titles in 2015.
