It was announced on Monday by TMZ that the WWE will induct "Macho Man" Randy Savage into their WWE Hall of Fame on Saturday March 28. The announcement will be made on Raw tonight and is also confirmed on WWE.com as well. From WWE: "The 2015 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place on Saturday March 28, the night before WrestleMania 31, at San Jose's SAP Center. Tickets for the event go on sale this Saturday at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT." Randy Savage was the biggest name wrestler not in WWE's Hall of Fame and fans have spent over a decade wondering why it's taken so long for him to get in. Savage is one of the best overall talents in the history of wrestling. He had great matches, his promos were legendary, he had a great look and amazing charisma as well. Savage was a two-time WWE Champion, a four-time WCW Champion and an Intercontinental Champion. Sadly, Savage passed away in 2011 when he suffered a heart attack while he was driving the car. His wife was with him in the car and she survived the crash. His brother Lanny Poffo and his mother will likely be on hand to speak about him. They were both featured in the Savage DVD that came out late last year. No word on who may induct him, but there are a lot of candidates. Back in July, there was speculation that Savage would be in WWE's Hall of Fame. A big reason was because WWE did a great DVD about him while also inviting his brother Lanny Poffo to New Orleans for WrestleMania 30 weekend to see what it was like to be around WWE's Hall of Fame ceremony. It's smart for WWE to announce the induction over eight hours before Raw airs tonight. Thanks to social media as well as a huge website like TMZ, it's going to create a lot of buzz for Raw and that's never a bad thing. It's also going to be a tough night for ratings because NCAA College Football championship airs on ESPN Monday night also. It's expected to get around 30 million viewers in the US, so that's some steep competition. This news is great for WWE fans that have wondered when Savage would take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame. He influenced so many of us that watched wrestling in the 1980s and 1990s. Aside from Hulk Hogan, he was probably the biggest star from that period. There were all kinds of rumours as to why he didn't get in the Hall of Fame earlier, with stories going around that he slept with a 17 year old Stephanie McMahon. It will be interesting to see her face during Macho Man's induction speech, but now that he's going in perhaps people can move on from it and focus on this fabulous news. Savage may be the headline act, but there will probably be some other big names too.
