Major Update On WWE's Survivor Series 2023 Plans
Latest on WWE's backstage plans for its 25 November PLE.
WarGames appears to be back on the menu for WWE Survivor Series 2023.
Fightful Select reports that the dual-ring cage match is planned to return for the second consecutive Survivor Series premium live event. A men's match is seemingly part of the plans, though there is currently no word on a women's WarGames.
That the Judgment Day will be involved in WarGames has been heavily implied, though WWE is yet to confirm any details. Presumably, Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh would face off against a babyface team.
WWE brought WarGames to the main roster for the first time in 2022. At that year's Survivor Series, The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and Sami Zayn) defeated Sheamus, Ridge Holland, Butch, Drew McIntyre, and Kevin Owens in the main event, with Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim and Becky Lynch besting Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Nikki Cross, and Rhea Ripley in the opener.
Created by Dusty Rhodes in the 1980s, WarGames was adopted by WWE in 2017, becoming an annual fixture in NXT thereafter. This remained in place until December 2021, with it seemingly belonging to Raw and SmackDown now.
