Mark Henry Injured Again At WWE SmackDown Tapings

No word on how the injury affects the Steel Cage Triple Threat World Title match at the WWE Royal Rumble but we expect him to work through the pain.

Mark Henry, who has been hurting real bad and trying to work around a groin injury since December when he was forced to drop the WWE World Heavyweight Title, has reportedly injured himself again. According to PWInsider, Henry suffered what is thought to be a hyperextended knee at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings in Tucson, Arizona. It is believed to have occurred when Henry threw a punch and his knee moved forward before his foot had been completely planted during the move. It is another setback for Henry who has had numerous problems with his knee over the years and due to wear and tear they are only getting worse. The injury will air on WWE SmackDown tonight, including how the company dealt with the changed finished which they made up on the fly because of the injury. PWInsider.com reports that the original plan was to see Daniel Bryan attack The Big Show with a chair after Show had knocked Henry to the floor, leaving Show to make a comeback and Chokeslam the World Champion, leaving him for dead. Henry was then to splash Bryan with the show going off the air showcasing the 'impossible' task he has on Sunday in trying to retain his Gold. Instead what will air tonight, according to a viewer who has seen the Australian broadcast (which goes out before anywhere else) is the following;
"They clearly call an audible as Henry collapses like he's been shot in the thigh and rolls outside and they go to commercial, however the finish (count-out) happens off-camera, with Bryan already attacking Show when they resume with Henry presumably already in the back getting treatment."
No word on how the injury affects the Steel Cage Triple Threat World Title match at the WWE Royal Rumble (there are reports Big Show has been carrying around an injury too) but we expect him, as he has done for weeks now, to work through the pain... not that it helps the match having an injured competitor(s).
