Last week on Raw, Vince McMahon appointed Stephanie and Shane McMahon as the Commissioners of Raw and Smackdown, respectively, but he also gave them an ultimatum - in one week, they would have to name General Managers who would help them run "day-to-day operations" for the brand. Sure enough, Raw this week opened with the revelations of the brand-new GMs.

Stephanie took center stage first, introducing the man who will help her run Raw - Mick Foley. The beloved three-time WWE Champion and Hall of Famer vowed that, as he was instrumental in helping WWE put WCW out of business, he'd be similarly focused and determined to help Raw succeed in its battle with Smackdown.

Next, Shane McMahon introduced his General Manager - none other than the heavily-rumored Daniel Bryan. Bryan was grateful to be back in front of the WWE Universe, and he promised that, much as the fans had propelled him to victories over Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista, they would help him become a great Smackdown General Manager who could properly take the fight to Raw.

Naming the two ultra-popular stars to authority positions seems to be a certain way to raise fan interest and garner improved ratings.
