New NJPW Tag Team Champions Crowned
6 is the magic number...
For the sixth time in their history as a tag team together, the Guerillas of Destiny are your reigning IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.
Beating Juice Robinson and David Finlay on the last leg of the New Beginning tour in Atlanta, the real-life brothers Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa reclaimed their belts after Tonga pinned Finlay for the victory.
The pair had lost the belts recently at WrestleKingdom 14 to Robinson and Finlay after that duo had won the World Tag League tournament in December to set up a match between the two teams at the landmark event.
After capturing the belts for the first time, Robinson and Finlay would only succeed in reigning as champs for just 28 days.
Elsewhere on the show, Hiroshi Tanahashi and the Rock 'n' Roll Express were victorious over TJP, Alex Zayne and Clark Connors, Chase Owens knocked off Rocky Romero, Jeff Cobb did enough to put away Lance Archer, Toru Yano and Colt Cabana got the win over Yujiro Takahashi and Jado, YOSHI-HASHI submitted Misterioso with the butterfly lock and Yuji Nagata and Satoshi Kojima conquered Alex Coughlin and Ren Narita.
Will Robinson and Finlay be granted a rematch for their belts or will the 'G.O.D.' set their sights on new challengers in the coming months?
