BeltTalk.com.com reports that images of the new WWE Title belt have leaked online. The above image is said to be a legit photo of the new belt, though according to PWInsider.com “some changes” will be made to the championship belt before the final design is actually revealed.
WWE Champion CM Punk first revealed during a Q & A session at the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con at the weekend that the WWE title belt would be getting a makeover soon and that he had already seen the images. He claimed the new belt didn’t look much better than the one current one, which as this new belt looks extremely crappy, further fuels our theory that this is real.
The current WWE Championship Title was introduced back in 2005 by John Cena. At the time it was known as the ‘spinner’ belt. The Championship was designed to represent Cena’s rap gimmick. However, in 2007 the Title’s spinning centrepiece was amended to a fixed position. This would be the WWE title’s first permanent new belt in five years.

Just when I thought WWE couldn’t do worse after the spinner belt, they show us this “thing”. It’s an uglier version of the Cena belt.
This title belt is wayyyyy uglier than even the penny looking tag team belts. I thought WWE couldn’t make a belt look as bad as those, guess i was wrong
If these belts keep getting progressively sh*ttier, then the WWE Title is eventually going to be a f*cking shoe-horn with a tiny WWE logo on it. Well, atleast the new title belt reflects the overall product – a sh_ttier version of what it’s replacing.
That is the fugliest thing I have seen since Jillian Hall had that thing on her face and the Boogeyman ate it!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, what the hell is that? Belt designs of the attitude era were the best by being simple, classy, good amount of color with a good sense of width, height and shape. This, the Divas championship & the Tag belts are freakin atrocious. Whoever’s designing these needs to be FIRED. Honestly, if they just went back to the old versions during the Attitude era for all belts, I wouldn’t mind — in fact, I’d be happy.

A lot of people are quick to judge this already but look at the shape of it. This is obviously just a side plate for the belt!
I’m sure the front plate will be nicer.
If they are smart, hopefully a little more traditional looking.
The big problem is IMO that the scratched, attitude era WWE logo they still use is outdated and have never been really great to start with.
The blocky WWF logo from back then was much more great looking and fit nicely on belts. It was a classic sport league logos, they should use it back for other stuff than the vintage re-issue, maybe with a further redesign / update.
In all do, the new belt look nice to me, it’s sure an improvement from the spinner. The spinner is not bad per say, buy didn’t fit that much with all wrestler IMO. This one tap a bit more into the bold, strongman champion belt roots of such title.

I’ve never really had a problem with the spinner belt although I do agree that it works better as a John Cena gimmick and not a permanent design. That being said, I do feel like it’s time for a new belt design, but dear god, this is horrible. If they want to use another gimmick belt, might I suggest having The Rock win the title and using the Brahma Bull belt that they never did?
People need to give it a chance, all you have seen is one side plate. That’s not the whole belt!
