Nikki Bella's Neck Injury Caused By Rack Attack Finisher?

And when will the former Divas Champion be making her return to the ring?

The recent winner of the Slammy Award for Diva Of The Year, Nikki Bella has been sidelined from the ring for over two months. Having last wrestled at the October 26th edition of RAW (the night after Hell In A Cell), Bella has been recovering from what had been reported as a back and neck injury. According to a new report from Dave Metlzer of the Wrestling Observer, Bella is now spending her time awaiting an evaluation on her condition, due the end of January. At that point, medical personnel will be able to advise Nikki on if she needs further medical intervention. At that point, they will be looking at possible surgery to repair bulging discs in her neck, a procedure that would likely keep her out of action for many more months. If surgery is not required, Bella's return could come relatively quickly following the January evaluation.
Meltzer also noted that the injury is currently being attributed to her use of the Rack Attack finishing maneuver, though there are some questions on whether that prognosis is legitimate or part of an upcoming storyline on the new season of Total Divas. Having held the Divas Title for the majority of 2015, it can't be denied that Nikki made great strides in the ring over the course of the year. While early in her career, Bella's ring work was an on-going learning process, she became one of the more consistent performers in the ring this year when it came to the Divas division.
