Finn Bálor has turned to the darkside.

The Irishman promised that his "past would be his future" on this week's episode of NXT, and - gibberish though that was - he made good on his promise, unleashing a vicious streak we haven't seen since his Bullet Club days on hapless 'mates' Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.

After North American Champion Roderick Strong had seen off the dual challenge to his belt from Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic, he and his Undisputed Era teammates were confronted by Ciampa and Gargano. In a bid to even the odds, Bálor subsequently emerged.

But before the NXT hero could help out, he stunned everybody in Full Sail by turning his attentions to his ostensible partners. Gargano was struck with a vicious Pelé Kick, as the Undisputed Era hyenas ripped their prone prey to pieces.

Bálor had more up his sleeve, sending 'Johnny Wrestling' through the barricade with a dropkick, before hitting him with a nasty 1916 DDT on the ramp.

Bálor's back, and he's bad - and we like it.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
