NXT Trio Debut On WWE SmackDown

Ruby Riot, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan echo Raw call-ups.

Hot off the heels of Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose's Raw bows alongside Paige this past Monday, another group of NXT's female performers made the step up to the main roster on last night's SmackDown.

Whilst in the make-up chair backstage, Naomi was approached by Ruby Riot and her two cronies, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan. There was a brief altercation, before the intruders began attacking the former SmackDown women's champion, only for Becky Lynch to make the save - or at least, try to. The Irish 'Lass Kicker' found herself on the receiving end of a similar beating, as the three stood around looking smug.

Later in the evening, the championship rematch between Charlotte Flair and Natalya was similarly hijacked by the incoming troika, who left both laying. Talk about making a first impression.

Riot's promotion is no surprise; she has been a prominent part of the NXT women's division over the past year, featuring in a championship match in Chicago and just missing out on the WarGames fatal-4-way, which was eventually won by Ember Moon. The former Heidi Lovelace contested Raw graduate Sonya Deville in a taped match on Saturday, set to air later this week. With both making the step up, it'll be curious to see how they are equally written off the yellow and black brand, if at all.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
