NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff Announced

WWE will host first major show in Wales this August.

WWE announced during last night's NXT TakeOver XXV show that the British arm of the black and gold brand will host its second special later this August - this time alighting in the Welsh capital Cardiff.

Though the company has not confirmed a specific venue for the special, NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff will take place on Saturday 31 August, and will air exclusively on the WWE Network at 8PM GMT (3PM ET).

NXT's British talent returned to Blackpool's Empress Ballroom this past January for the first ever NXT UK TakeOver, which saw Pete Dunne defend his United Kingdom Championship and Zack Gibson & James Drake become the brand's inaugural tag team champions. Current top dog of the division WALTER also made his debut on the night.

NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff will be the first time WWE have brought a major show to Wales. The brand currently boasts a strong Welsh contingent, including Mark Andrews, Flash Morgan Webster, and Eddie Dennis. Bargoed-born Tegan Nox also calls NXT home, but is currently aligned with the United States branch.
