Randy Orton Needs Neck Surgery

Could this be a career ender?

Randy Orton needs neck surgery, Dave Meltzer reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. This means that he is going to be out far longer than first expected, as he needs to recover from his shoulder injury first. The original shoulder issue was going to keep him out until after WrestleMania, but Meltzer now reports that the neck issue could create a worst case scenario of over a year out after the neck surgery. That means he'd be missing WrestleMania 33, it could even be a career ender. It is all up in the air. WWE are hoping that it isn't serious, that the neck surgery will just be to clear out bone chips. If the neck is in worse condition, then fusion will be necessary. Right now, it is thought that the fusion isn't likely, but is a possibility. Even in the best case scenario, the shoulder and neck issues are going to leave Orton struggling to get back for SummerSlam 2016. Having recently married, maybe the thirty five year old will consider his career. He's been a main event star for over a decade, making him a very rich man. He doesn't really need the WWE, but they'll definitely still want him to return.
