Randy Orton To Win WWE Title This Weekend?

Reports of a major swerve on the way for Money In The Bank

WWE.comWWE.comThere is talk of a possible swerve at the Money In The Bank pay per view this weekend, which would involve Randy Orton winning the WWE title. The news comes from the latest Figure Four Weekly Newsletter, stating that it would then lead to Orton vs Roman Reigns vs John Cena at Battleground in July. This match would then see Cena finally winning the title, establishing Cena vs Lesnar for the belt at SummerSlam. Orton meanwhile would go on to face Reigns in a one on one match at the August show. Reigns had originally been scheduled to face Triple H at SummerSlam, but WWE are considering delaying that until September's Night Of Champions. The logic behind that is to do with the expiring WWE Network subscriptions. The first batch of subscribers will expire after SummerSlam, and the temptation might be to hold off on re-subscribing until WWE's hot business starts again in January 2015. The Autumn period has been awful in recent years, so stacking September's show with matches of the calibre of Hunter vs Reigns is a way to keep subscribers interested. WWE has also booked Brock Lesnar for Night Of Champions for the same reason. In looking at the potential of an Orton win this weekend, it would certainly be a proper 'heel' moment. He's genuinely loathed by the audience. It at least allows WWE to have a unique sell for July's Battleground PPV, with the idea of Cena and Reigns chasing the heel a more effective story than a babyface going into the show as Champion.
