Reason Titus O'Neil Grabbed Vince McMahon Revealed

Learn the motivations behind the action that led to his lengthy suspension.

Titus O'Neil told WWE that he grabbed Vince McMahon to say "ladies first" and allow Stephanie McMahon to exit the Raw ramp, ProWrestlingSheet are reporting. It was intended to be in a playful manner, but McMahon was not amused and didn't accept the explanation. ProWrestlingSheet are reporting that the length of the suspension is to send a message to the roster that professionalism must be upheld at all times. It has been noted that several superstars have been pushing their luck recently. To most fans, Titus' reason will sound reasonable enough. The sixty day suspension sounds very harsh for what was a bit of a joke and in truth a gentlemanly gesture. But to be fair to Vince, at seventy years old and being grabbed from behind, perhaps it gave him a shock. The reason may not matter too much, it was the action that got O'Neil into trouble. Still, the whole thing now has ballooned into a bit of a PR disaster for WWE. The New York Post even linked racism with the incident. The company would have been better punishing O'Neil in private, thus burying the incident from the public. Many fans hadn't even noticed the grab. Instead WWE suspended O'Neil, drawing a ton of attention to the seemingly small incident.
