Ric Flair Statue Being Created For WrestleMania 33 Weekend
Flair to be immortalized in bronze.
Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that WWE is currently in the process of creating a life-sized bronze statue of Ric Flair to be unveiled during WrestleMania weekend -- most likely at the Axxess fan fest, where the company's collection of statues is displayed ever year.
The news came after professional model Sean Perry posted several pictures of himself being covered in plaster to Facebook, along with the caption, “Sooooo, the other day a studio did a full body mold of me for a statue of Ric Flair (in his prime) for the WWE Hall of Fame. One word: WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Flair's statue will join four others that are displayed every year at WrestleMania Axxess - one for Andre the Giant, one for Bruno Sammartino, one for Dusty Rhodes, and one for The Ultimate Warrior. A fifth bronze statue - depicting then-WWE and United States Champion Seth Rollins - was created for storyline purposes, but was ultimately destroyed by Sting leading up to their Night of Champions 2015 match.
The statues are typically exhibited in Axxess's WrestleMania section, alongside memorabilia from (and descriptions of) all of the past events.
