Sami Zayn Injured On WWE Raw?
Recent NXT call-up could be out with another shoulder injury.
WWE just can't catch a break, can they? Just a few weeks after Neville was put on the shelf with an ankle broken in two places, it looks like Sami Zayn might be joining him on the injured list thanks to an incident on the post-WrestleMania Raw.
According to Wrestling Inc, Zayn may have been injured during last night's segment with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, AJ Styles, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens. At the end of the segment, Zayn hit a tope on Owens but he landed awkwardly and the camera immediately cut away from the action.
The report claims that Zayn ran to the back clutching his shoulder. He was then removed from the fatal four way main event after a segment where Owens attacked him, allowing the returning Cesaro to take his place.
Could it have been a work, or was Sami legitimately hurt in the scuffle? If he was injured, this has to be a huge blow for Sami, who was on a roll following a fantastic match with Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT: Takeover Dallas as well as a very well-received debut WrestleMania performance.
The talented high-flyer had only just returned from a shoulder injury, too, coming back in January after an eight month layoff. Looking at the footage, it appears as though Sami injured the same left shoulder that but him out of action for most of 2015.
Here's hoping that he was just taken out of the match as a precaution and that it was nothing too serious. We'll provide an update as and when one becomes available.
