Samoa Joe Cuts Weight And In Fantastic Condition For WWE NXT

Joe will return to NXT at tonight's tapings.

Samoa Joe is in the best shape he's been in years, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He has cut a significant amount of weight and is in fine condition for his new WWE NXT run. Clearly Joe has been working hard for some time to prepare for his WWE role. There had been concerns about him from a physical stand point, but he's obviously addressed the nagging injury and fitness issues that dogged him in his final years with TNA. Specifically, Joe was never the same wrestler after a sick bump he took at Bound For Glory 2008. He dived several feet off a balcony on to steps, hurting himself badly and noticeably never being the same again. He put weight on after that and it looked like he was on borrowed time in the business. Now he's with WWE in NXT and is expected to return at the tapings tonight. His debut at NXT Takeover Unstoppable was a success and established a Samoa Joe vs Kevin Owens match for an unannounced date. It is a good move for Joe, as his body may have been a concern for a full time schedule, but on an NXT basis, he can work a few matches without any serious worries about his body holding up.
