Twenty-four hours after Seth Rollins made a long-awaited return from knee surgery by attacking WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns, Shane McMahon made a match between the two men official - at Money in the Bank, Reigns will defend the title Rollins never lost against him.
Seth Rollins was WWE Champion last November when his former Shield partner Reigns won a bout to become number one contender. The two were scheduled for a clash at Survivor Series, but Rollins suffered a serious knee injury during a show in Dublin, forcing him to give up the belt. A 16-man tournament was held for the vacant title, with Reigns defeating Dean Ambrose in the finals to capture the belt.
Six months later, Reigns is a three-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion and, like it or not, the top man in WWE. At Sunday's Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View, Reigns defended the title against AJ Styles in a classic match, but following his win, Rollins made a surprise appearance, laying the champ out with a Pedigree.
Rollins opened Raw on Monday by criticizing the fans for cheering him despite not being there for him during his title reign, cementing his status as a heel. When Reigns interrupted him, Rollins left the ring, but McMahon came out, invited Rollins back in, and made the match - which he deemed worth of being a WrestleMania main event - for the June 19 show.
