Seth Rollins Heel Turn Wasn't In WWE Raw Script

This Monday's Raw had a shocking ending as Seth Rollins turned heel on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in a move that ended The Shield as a group. A new report from PWInsider notes that the Rollins turn was not written into the script that was used several days before the PPV. It could have been that WWE officials wanted to keep it off the books. It could have been something decided weeks ago or at Payback. The script that was used at Monday's RAW had Kane vs. John Cena in the main event position and the turn with Rollins wasn't even hinted at. It's a smart move by WWE because a lot of the time these things get leaked out by people within the company and fans on the internet can learn about them, which is obviously not something WWE wants to happen. If we were watching Monday's Raw and knew that Rollins was turning then it wouldn't have had the same kind of great impact that it had on fans. The turn by Rollins is something that some fans may not like right because The Shield was such a dominant force as a group, but it was expected at some point because of WWE's intent to make Reigns into a breakout star. It was also a good cliffhanger ending to Raw. Fans will want to tune into Smackdown this week to hear from Rollins and next week we'll see further developments in the story. As wrestling fans, we should welcome the element of surprise in the shows. We always want to know more about the backstage happenings in WWE, but it's great to be blindsided by things once in a while. By leaving the Rollins turn out of the script it was WWE's way of taking action before the angle could be ruined. It's a smart move by them.
