Sheamus And Randy Orton Likely To Return In WWE Royal Rumble

The fighting Irishman was with the Raw crew this week.

Sheamus and Randy Orton are likely to return during the WWE's Royal Rumble match this Sunday. Sheamus was backstage at Raw and did an interview for WWE.com. He didn't reveal a comeback date, but f4wonline reports that his return is "imminent" and that's why he was in Dallas with the rest of the crew. As for Randy Orton, he is still listed in advertising for the Rumble and the events in the week afterwards. Orton had been out for a while doing filming for the Condemned 2. He unofficially returned in late December, but the WWE has waited on the right moment to reintroduce him fully. That moment will surely be this Sunday at Royal Rumble. It will be a big pop moment and a great way to reintroduce The Viper into WWE storylines. As one of the better workers, he could have a lengthy time in the Rumble match. His chances of winning aren't great, but a final four spot is likely. The other alternative would be to have him return in the WWE Title match. Before going away, Orton had just turned face and started a feud with Seth Rollins. It looked like a hot programme and the crowd was lapping it up. However, Rollins' momentum has carried him beyond that point and he's now perhaps going to be involved in a feud with Brock Lesnar. He might even be set for a run with the WWE Title. As for Sheamus, surely he will come back in the Rumble with some sort of heel role. This is the perfect time to reinvent the Irish character. He'd became so stale and boring as a face, which is a shame as he is an effective brawler. Astute observers on social media and the wwe.com interview will have noticed that Sheamus is always wearing a cap and appears to be bald underneath the hat. It looks like he's changed his image and hopefully creative will back him up with character changes.
