Shot WWE Fan Was Obsessed With Lita

More details on the scary situation in Orlando yesterday.

There was a scary incident that took place at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando on Monday when a fan was shot outside of the facility. Armando Alejandro Montalvo, 29, who is from the Orlando area, had allegedly being banned from the building by court order after previous incidents in recent weeks. When he refused to go away, while apparently holding a chain in his hands, a police officer shot him and he was sent to hospital. More details have emerged today regarding the incident. It's been reported that Montalvo had an obsession with WWE Hall of Famer Lita and also was a big AJ Lee fan. He had signs for Lita saying "Lita I Love you" and also had a chair and binoculars with him when he was arrested at the WWE Performance Center on August 4. A report from the August 4 arrest noted that Montalvo kept asking about Lita, saying that he loved her and she's awesome. He thought what was happening to him was "awesome" even though he was getting arrested.
Lita was at the WWE Performance Center regularly in the last few months because she was a coach on WWE Tough Enough, which was filmed there, but she wasn't there on Monday. She's not a regular trainer for WWE, so likely won't be around the Performance Center very much. A friend of Montalvo named Elvis Kalicharan talked about the situation with ClickOrlando.com: "As long as I've known him, he's never gone there with ill intentions. He's just a silly little kid." He added that Montalvo had mental health problems and was fixated on WWE, but would never hurt anyone. Kalicharan noted that Montalvo has medicine that he needs to take and perhaps he hasn't been taking it. Following the incident, WWE released this statement: "Unfortunately, a deranged individual with no WWE affiliation, who had a court order prohibiting him from being on WWE property, was involved in an incident with an Orange County sheriff€™s deputy in the parking lot of the WWE Performance Center. We defer to the Orange County Sheriff€™s (Office) for further comment and information." On Monday after the incident, Montalvo was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries in critical but stable condition.
