Sting Reveals Almost Joining WWE Last Year & Wants To Face The Undertaker

TNA wrestler Sting has revealed that he almost joined WWE last year but in the end no deal could be reached. Sting was speaking to Kiss-FM on Thursday last week promoting Impact Wrestling at Wembley Arena when he was asked the last time he almost joined the WWE; "Last year... we were very, very close." When asked if he had any regrets over never appearing for the WWE, he said; "Yes and no. Who wouldn't want to say that they've done at least one WrestleMania? I'm not going to lie to you, I wish I had done one of those. I've had great conversations with him over the years and been real close on three or four different occasions. There was always a need met or desire of mine met with WCW or with TNA, so I stayed." When asked which wrestler he would have most liked to have wrestled against who he never got chance too, he said; "I'd have to say the top one... Undertaker. I think wrestling fans have wanted to see Sting vs. Undertaker for years. I think between his gimmick and mine, it could be pretty cool. We could do some pretty cool stuff." Sting is now almost 53 years of age and both he and The Undertaker only have a few years left in them (if that) before retirement hits, so if Vince McMahon is wanting to put on this dream match he is going to have to act fairly quickly about it. Though at this stage the match looks as far away from ever happening as it ever did.
