Stone Cold Steve Austin WWE WrestleMania 32 Update

Mania 3:16.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Stone Cold Steve Austin is expected to have a role at WrestleMania 32, but as of a week ago, WWE hadn't pitched him an idea. What's interesting about that is Austin said in the past that he'd only appear for WWE if the creative was good. He was unhappy at WrestleMania 30, when his role was basically just a bit of brief ring time and going through the motions of his character. However, he has already said he'll be at Mania 32, so clearly the creative issue isn't going to stand in the way. The prospect of appearing at the biggest Mania of all time was probably too good to turn down. Still, hopefully WWE and Austin can resolve the specifics of his role soon. Like Austin, the fans don't want to see him just rolled out for the sake of it. He deserves a meaningful spot. As one of the greatest WWE characters of all time and an excellent speaker, he could definitely contribute something special to the show. One rumour is that he could end up slotted in as the special referee for Triple H versus Roman Reigns. That would then give Mania an impressive end visual, with Reigns the new Champion being held up by The Rock and Stone Cold. It would be the two biggest stars in history heralding the new franchise. The Rock is expected to be there in Reigns' corner man for the match.
