That Time Rod McMahon ALMOST Appeared On WWE TV

Vince McMahon's only sibling almost showed up on WWE Raw back in 2007.

Vince McMahon's only sibling Rod has sadly passed away.

WWE fans never really caught a proper glimpse of Rod over the years. He was spotted at the 2016 Hall Of Fame before WrestleMania 32, but didn't actually appear on screen officially. That was supposed to change back in 2007 - Roderick was going to attend a mock funeral for his brother following the infamous limo explosion angle on the 11 June episode of Raw.

Two weeks later, on the 25 June edition, Rod was scheduled to appear and add some legitimacy to the kayfabe death. He would've been part of a funeral procession for Vince, but the grim Chris Benoit double murder and suicide tragedy changed everything.

WWE shelved plans to produce a fake funeral, and Rod's planned appearance was cancelled with it. It's likely another foray onto company television was never discussed again; Vince's funeral angle might've been the only decent reason to call up Rod and ask him to appear.

Who knows if Rod's WWE stint would've been a one-off cameo or something more. It's entirely plausible that he could've been asked to cut a promo on the abandoned tribute episode.
