Ring of Honor Wrestling's Final Battle PPV on Friday evening brought about a big surprise. Following the Young Bucks's match with the Briscoe Brothers, Matt Hardy appeared on the video screen.

While it's been rumored for quite some time that ROH has been interested in the Hardys, nothing has come about over the years. However, following the Bucks' successful ROH Tag Team Championship defense at Final Battle, Matt Hardy surprised everyone when he popped up on the screen.

Hardy announced that he and Brother Nero (Jeff Hardy) are coming to the honorable ring so that they "can render you ramshackle rednecks and you spot monkeys OBSOLETE!"

This is an incredibly interesting development for many reasons. For one, ROH and TNA haven't engaged in talent swapping for many years. In the early days of TNA, it was common for stars to work both ROH and TNA. However, over the years, TNA developed into a situation where they wanted their wrestlers to be relatively exclusive. Add in the fact that the Hardys are the current TNA Tag Champions, and we've got something to talk about here.

There is some speculation that perhaps the Bucks and/or Briscoes appeared in the tapings for the TNA "Total Nonstop Deletion" special that will air on December 15. If that's the case, perhaps that is the reasoning behind TNA allowing the Hardys the opportunity to work ROH.

No word yet on when the eventual Hardys/Bucks match will take place, but one would think it will be relatively quickly.
