The Miz Has #1 Spot in WWE Royal Rumble Match

After suffering a defeat against R-Truth on last night's RAW SuperShow, The Miz has been given the #1 spot in this Sunday's 30-man Royal Rumble main event match.

The Miz has been given the #1 spot in this Sunday's 30-man Royal Rumble main event match. Only two men have ever won the Rumble from the #1 spot; Shawn Michaels in 1995 and Chris Benoit in 2004. Two have also one from the second spot; Vince McMahon in 1999 (though McMahon spent almost all of the match on commentary) and Rey Mysterio in 2006. On last night's RAW two further names were confirmed for the Rumble, Chris Jericho and Mick Foley. On tomorrow night's SmackDown, Randy Orton will also be announced for the match. Competitors announced for the Royal Rumble match so far are; 1. The Miz (who will start at number 1) The rest in no particular order; 2. Wade Barrett 3. Sheamus 4. R-Truth 5. Jinder Mahal 6. Santino Marella 7. Chris Jericho 8. Mick Foley Though WWE have said previously that €˜all singles competitors at the Rumble are eligible for the 3o-man match€™ which probably means John Cena and Kane and Dolph Ziggler can get in on the match. On RAW, current WWE Champion CM Punk was also shown in the graphic as if he could be eligible but presumably this is only there to suggest that if Punk loses the title to Ziggler he would be eligible for the match too. A broken back injury angle was also played up on RAW which will likely keep Zack Ryder out of the Rumble match and for the next few weeks. Kane chokeslammed him off the arena and after being seen two by medics for several minutes he was taken away in an ambulance.
