The Undertaker's 10 Cringiest Moments

Buckle up, Teddy.

Undertaker Buckle Up
WWE

The Undertaker finally brought the curtain down on his illustrious WWE career last week, and whilst many are using it as an opportunity to celebrate the Dead Man's greatest hits, it's also a good time to look back at those moments when he had us cowering behind the sofa - not out of fear, but embarrassment.

It's hard enough admitting you're a wrestling fan at the best of times - and those who have been watching for a while know that suspending one's disbelief is a prerequisite - but introduce lightning bolts and burning crosses to the mix, and our beloved sport-cum-soap-opera suddenly becomes less offbeat and more comically ridiculous.

You can try and rationalise it all you want - maybe 'Taker knows a guy in the production truck, you offer, in the company of non-wrestling fans - but the simple fact is: the dude's got magical powers. Great matches and a legendary aura the like of which we'll never see again, yes, but also: magical powers, for Christ sake. There's just no getting away from that.

So grab a handy cushion and prepare to take your facial muscles through their paces.

10. Booker T And "The Shadow"

After he spent a few years rocking the American Badass look (you can knock it all you want but it's not responsible for a single one of the moments on this list) WWE were intent on emphasising Undertaker's spooky side to any younger fans who may have recently joined them when he resumed his stint as the Dead Man in 2004. That's after he was buried alive by Kane, just so we're clear.

Booker T was one of his first victims after the makeover, and - in trying to understand what made his opponent tick - he duly sought the advice of a sort-of Caribbean fortune teller, with hilarious (but undeniably cringe-worthy) results. For once, 'Taker gets a reprieve here: more than anything, it's the five-time WCW Champion's perpetual state of wide-eyed astonishment that gets you.
