A stipulation-heavy main event awaits the TNA faithful.

Despite rumours of their demise continuing to circle forebodingly overhead, TNA Wrestling has gone ahead and announced the big information for their annual Slammiversary pay-per-view. Their days of monthy PPVs for TNA are long gone, and in 2016 Slammiversary is one of just two such events for the company.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 12 in Orlando, Florida. The date and venue were announced at Impact TV tapings over the weekend, and the subsequent shows set up a number of matches for Slammiversary.

In the main event, the TNA Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as Drew Galloway takes on Bobby Lashley in what is being billed as a 'Submission/KO Match'. TNA has often tried to get Lashley over as a legitimate fighting machine whilst pushing Drew as a never say die fighter, so if anything the stipulation hints at the Scot refusing to give in, but his body giving up instead.

Along with the main event we'll also see Ethan Carter III take on 'The Miracle' Mike Bennett, and Bennett's wife Maria Kanellis will battle the recently-kidnapped Gail Kim. The Hardy brothers will take on one another once again, and Knockouts Champion Jade is set to defend against new arrival Sienna (the former Allysin Kay).

Of course, all of this depends on TNA making it to June, and the jury is still out on that one.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
