IMPACT Wrestling executive Scott D'Amore has claimed that the promotion (which is set to rebrand as TNA next month) is on the verge of landing one of the biggest signings in its history.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, D'Amore said that TNA/IMPACT was working on some "unexpected things", including the big-time signing.

Per D'Amore (h/t Figure Four Online/Wrestling Observer):

"We're going to have some surprises for you, some unexpected things including, guys, we are right there at the goal line of finalizing one of, I think, the biggest signings in TNA. I think it's something that's really going to shake things up here on January 13."

There is currently no word on who D'Amore is referencing, though TNA has not been shy of pursuing major names when they have become available recently, CM Punk and Will Ospreay are understood to both have been the subject of offers from the Anthem-helmed group before pledging their wrestling futures to WWE and AEW respectively.

IMPACT's Hard to Kill pay-per-view will see it return to the old TNA name and branding on 13 January 2024. "You won't believe who is showing up!" has been added to the show's marketing:
