TNA Impact Wrestling Oct 20th - James Storm New World Champion

Hot off the heels of disappointing/predictable/weird Bound For Glory, we are back in Florida for Impact Wrestling this week.

IMPACT WRESTLINGOctober 20th 2011 Hot off the heels of disappointing/predictable/weird Bound For Glory, we are back in Florida for Impact Wrestling this week. First we get a video to remind us that Hogan turned face and joined Sting, then in the arena Sting himself is on the way to the ring. Sting is happy that he got the company back to Dixie, and that he got the real Hulk Hogan back. The explanation for turning face should be a good one, right? Sting brings out Hogan and he€™s all smiles and in classic red and yellow. Hogan says for the last year he€™s been wrong. That was a very sudden realisation. Hogan explains that he had a few bad years, lost a bit of confidence and became a follower of Bischoff rather than a leader. There€™s only one person to thank he says. And its Sting. Who he calls the TRUE leader who took every bullet for a year to prove he was right about Hogan. He€™s embarrassed at who he used to be. He sucks up to Sting a bit more and leaves. Sting stays in the ring and calls out Dixie Carter. He sucks up to her now. Sting tells her she needs to surround herself with people who are looking out for everyone€™s best interest. The same mistake cant be made twice. She said her role isn€™t in the ring. She€™s not wrong there. She asks Sting to help her run the day to day operations, with whatever authority he needs. He agrees. Now what€ Kurt Angle is coming out and noticeably limping. We€™ve already had two ad breaks and we€™re STILL on the opening segment. Kurt says hes gunna represent the company as World Champion whether she likes it or not. Kurt claims the match went thirty minutes at Bound For Glory, when really it went around fifteen. He runs down Roode, which brings out Roode himself. Roode is livid at Kurt for taking that tainted victory. He calls Kurt pathetic. An Olympic medallist who had to SCREW Roode by holding the ropes. Great fired up promo from Roode, first interesting thing to happen so far on the show. Rematch chant from the crowd. Roode is about to say maybe he cant do anything about it but Sting interjects. Sting uses his powers to make a World Title match between Kurt and Roode in a rematch. It wont be that easy though. Kurt lets us know that when Roode signed the contract, Kurt had Bischoff put in a part that said Roode would only get one match. Kurt says they did it because they knew Roode was a threat and yeah, they screwed him. Kurt is about to use James Storm€™s catchphrase, but Storm himself says it and appears on the ramp with a beer. And we have ANOTHER AD BREAK before MORE talking. Storm asks Kurt if theres a clause that stops STORM getting a match. So he asks Sting for a match. Kurt tells him he needs to stop drinking. Sting steps in and makes the match. And Roode adds €œSorry about your damn luck.€ And are we done? Please? Don€™t bring anyone else out. Look at the size of that paragraph, no need for that segment to run so long. Backstage Immortal roll up on Hulk in the parking lot all intimidating like. Bischoff wants to say goodbye to the old Hogan in the IMMORTAL way in the ring. Bischoff tells him if he has any balls he€™ll face him one on one in the ring. Knockouts Tag TitlesAngelina Love and Winter vs. Tara and Tessmacher I seriously hadn€™t got a clue who was Knockout Tag Champions until Tar and Tess were just announced. Challengers jump the Champions on the apron before the bell. They single out Tess. Tess manages to avoid a cross body from Love, which gives her the opening to tag in Tara. Tara floors both challengers and clotheslines Winter. She chokes her with a t shirt right in front of the ref. Tara with a Fireman carry into a side slam, Angelina breaks the count. They whip her to ropes, Tess with a blind tag. Tara drops both opponents, Tess flies in on Winter and pins her for three! The Jarretts are joining us now, and they€™re in a foul mood since Bound For Glory! Jarrett calls out Hardy straight away and here he comes with his new music and entrance video. Jarrett tells him hes not walking back into his main event slot like nothing ever happened. This is weird, Im pulling for Jeff Jarrett for the first time since 1999. Jarrett tells him to get out or suffer at the hands of the founder. Hardy says its obvious the people want him here and its not because of his mistakes its because of how the people love him. Fuck you TNA crowd stop giving Hardy what he wants. Jarrett jumps him, they brawl around the ring until security run out, just like at Bound for Glory. D Lo and AL Snow and Pat come out too. D Lo and Al Snow get into a shoving match while trying to get rid of them. This distraction allows Hardy to jump Jarrett again but Jarrett gives him a cheap low blow while D Lo restrained Hardy. Then he leaves the ring. Kurt Angle is angry but he promises to beat James Storm. And he throws something. For the record we€™ve had 45 minutes of TNA if you take out the ads. And one match. Eric Young is backstage asking if he can do a sexy photo shoot when ROBBIE E and Rob Terry walk up on him. Robbie E says the TV title belongs to him. Eric thinks Robbie was on Jersey Shore and Rob was in Conan or something. Eric says he€™ll go and get them a match, but if there€™s any nonsense from Rob Terry, he€™ll get his friend Ron from the Jersey Shore to get involved. Robbie calls him an Amish hamster. Gunner comes to the ring and takes a mic. He says when you€™re part of Immortal, you have to prove you belong at the top. So he took it upon himself to sign up to finish the job on Abyss tonight. And Abyss storms the ring. Gunner vs. Abyss Abyss is in a BAD mood and all over Gunner in the corner. Clotheslines him down. Choke Bomb. A big right hand sends Gunner outside the ring and he crawls up the ramp. Abyss brings him back down by the hair and drives him into the steps. Gunner runs from ringside and clears backstage leaving Abyss in the ring for the count out victory. Another short one. Velvet Sky is backstage, thanking the fans for pushing her to get to the Knockouts Title. Gunner runs up to Immortal and he€™s saying €œThat€™s not Abyss out there, that€™s the MONSTER! We could use someone like that.€ Flair and Bischoff tell him to get a grip. Then they go to take care of Hogan. Velvet Sky comes to the ring with her new belt and she lets the pigeons loose. Shes proud to be standing in front of us as Knockouts Champion. She€™s all emotional you guys. Fans are chanting something but I cant make it out over TNA€™s fake crowd noise that they put in. She€™s interrupted by Karen Jarrett€™s music. Karen drags Traci to the ring. She tells Traci and Velvet she has the power to fire them both if she wants. Karen berates them both and promises to make Traci€™s life a living hell. Karen tells security to get out and remove Traci from the ring. Velvet tries to help, but there€™s nothing she can do. Karen tells Velvet to shut up for the twenty fifth time. Karen says she told Jeff she was going to strip her of the title, but WHERE would the physical pain be in that. Karen says she knows just the person to do it for her. €œMake sure you keep eyes in the back of your head.€ And with that, out comes Madison Rayne down the ramp. But as Velvet has her attention on Madison, she gets JUMPED from behind by GAIL KIM!! Gail Kim returns to TNA and she€™s on team Jarrett. Gail Kim always looks fantastic. Nice to see her debut back in TNA, but can we get some wrestling please? Please? I guess not, because Hulk Hogan is on his way to the ring AGAIN. Immortal come out first. If Hogan was on his way before the ads how did Immortal get out here first. Bischoff says he€™ll take care of his kid in his own time and way. Anyway here comes Hogan. The rest of Immortal get outside the ring and Hogan and Bischoff are left inside. I seriously cant get over how much talking there is on this episode. Bischoff doesn€™t understand how Hogan can turn his back on the guys who were protecting him for months. Bischoff says forget about Andre and whatever, BISCHOFF made Hogan. Bischoff blames Hogan for getting between him and his son. Bischoff gives him a slap, Hogan points the finger at Bischoff, Immortal dive in the ring. Sting slides in from nowhere and hands Hogan a bat, with one for himself which clears Immortal from the ring. As Bischoff backs up the ramp, his son appears behind him on the stage. He backs right into him. Eric pokes him. AND ANOTHER POKE! AND AGAIN! He rips his shirt open and points at his Bischoff tattoo, and tells him he€™s no longer a Bischoff. Another POKE! Son decks father. €œScrew you dad, screw you!€ Thumbs up from Hogan. Backstage, Storm and Roode are walking. Storm says he wishes he had more time to prepare. Roode tells him he€™s been preparing his whole life. You can do it pep talk for James Storm. Roode tells him tonight he wants to celebrate with the new world Champion James Storm! TNA World Title MatchJames Storm vs. Kurt Angle I time it at less than ten minutes left in the show. By the time the bell rings probably about 5. Kurt still has his hamstring strapped. Kurt straight in with the right hands on Storm. Beats him down in the corner. Kurt takes too much time shoving the ref, and turns around right into a super kick from James Storm. One, Two, Three. We have a new World Champion and its James Storm. In less than two minutes. Robert Roode is STRAIGHT out to celebrate with him. And you can tell the win means a lot to Storm. This is a great moment for James Storm as he celebrates up through the crowd. AJ and Kazarian join Storm and Roode in the ring and shower Storm with beer to celebrate. On the mic he tells us hes watched them all come and go, but the cowboy is now here to stay! He does acknowledge the victory being bittersweet because of Roode. He says they€™re the greatest tag team in the world but the World title belongs to Roode. Roode takes the mic and tells him the belt looks nice but he agrees with the fans, Storm deserves it. He puts the belt on Storm. Great to see for Someone who€™s been here since the beginning in TNA. And it was so very fitting to see him in the ring with Kaz, AJ And Roode. But TNA threw away a big moment like this at Bound for Glory. Plus I€™m sure Storm would have liked to have won the World Title in a match that lasted more than two minutes. Impact this week was a joke of a wrestling show. The main event was less than two minutes. Abyss vs. Gunner went about 5 with a count out ending and the only other match was Knockouts Tag. The rest was all promos, including TWO featuring Hulk Hogan. What can I say that hasn€™t been said before? TNA need to showcase their talent that makes them DIFFERENT from WWE. Storm as champion is a step in the right direction, but the rest of the show tonight was a waste of time.
