TNA Impact Wrestling! 22nd January 2012 Last week, Bully Ray helped Bobby Roode retain again against Jeffrey Hardy. And this week, out first is James Storm with his Mickie James like entrance music/video. He€™s number one contender now. He tells Kurt hes the greatest wrestler but he was better then threatens to whoop Roode€™s ass. €œSorry about your damn€€ He€™s cut off by Jeff Hardy€™s music and the Rainbow Emo himself comes to the ring. €œI got screwed at the PPV, I got screwed last week.€ He tells Storm nobody gets a shot until he gets his final encounter. Storm says a few months ago HE got screwed. €œYou€™d think with all this screwing he€™d have a lot of child support to pay.€ Before we can digest that thought, Roode comes out with a mic. He€™s flattered at the attention but reminds Storm that the stipulation was the winner of Storm€™s match faced the winner of he vs. Hardy. Then points out that it was a no contest, so no one won between he and Jeff, therefore Storm€™s number one Contendership is null and void. He€™s got a point. No more shots for Jeff either. And just in case you didn€™t see it coming, STING now comes out. His solution: Number one contenders match between Jeff and Storm. TA TA FOR NOW! Angelina Love challenges Eric Young but dares him to come alone. Gunner (with WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair) vs. AJ Styles AJ gets the better of the early exchanges, and nails Gunner with his trademark leapfrog, slide under, dropkick combination. Gunner regroups with Flair on the outside then rejoins in the ring. Flair distracts AJ, allowing Gunner to dig him in the throat then suplex him. Gunner slaps on a waist lock but AJ fights out. He goes off the ropes but runs right into a high knee. Gunner charges him in the corner but he gets a boot up and a stiff clothesline. AJ connects him his flying forearm when Kazarian and Daniels come down the ramp. Daniels tells Kaz to do something, again making AJ distracted. Gunner picks him up, but AJ slides out and kicks him in the head. Flair distracts the ref while Kazarian decks AJ from the apron. Gunner drills Styles with a DDT and Daniels makes Kazarian watch. One, Two, Three for Gunner as Daniels celebrates. Gunner takes AJ to the outside and sets him for the DDT on the floor. AJ pushes him off and escapes through the crowd. Magnus is ready for a match with Crimson when Crimson walks up and tells him he€™s going to end him. Then we see Bully Ray and Sting conversing somewhere else. Bully says he hasn€™t lost a match since becoming a singles wrestler so he deserves a shot. Sting mocks his accent back at him and give him a firm NO. Magnus vs. Crimson Magnus gets the confusion clothesline early for a two. Big suplex for another. He slaps Crimson cheekily in the corner then charges only to be picked up and dropped with the Red Sky for three. Crimson celebrates his quick win but Joe charges the ring and attacks. He decks the referee while he€™s at it. Magnus joins the attack, but of course Morgan comes out for the save. Joe takes out Morgan€™s knee and Magnus slams Crimson with a Michinoku Driver. Joe and Magnus then finish Morgan with their double team elbow finish. Eric Young is standing in front of a huge advertisement for cage fighting. I dunno what€™s going on with these advertisement promos. Eric does some €œcomedy€ with a caterer then ODB joins him to talk about his match with Angelina. €œYou gunna feed her a hot dog, YEAH!€ ODB talks him into it and says if he does a number on Angelina she might do a number on him. €œOh my god we€™re gunna hold hands!€ Supremely cheesy video package for Garrett Bischoff training to be a wrestler including a bit where his training partners attack him one by one and he takes them all down. In any sport if you want to go, from just a beginner to a pro, you€™ll need a montage. A simple little montage! Madison Rayne is freaking out about her cage match but Gail tells her shes gunna be there for her. Cage Match: Mickie James vs. Madison Rayne Madison plays reluctant participant but Earl turns Gail away at the door to the cage. Gail doesn€™t seem to bothered with having to leave, and does so. Mickie jumps her and gives her a sit out power bomb almost right away. Basement dropkick from James for two. Mickie with a Tazz Mission type hold on Madison. She fights to her feet and connects with a nice kick to Mickie€™s face. When we come back from commercial Mickie gives her a flapjack and nips up. She goes up top but Madison takes her down again then drops her neck across the top rope. Snap Suplex, spins into another neck breaker. Madison uses Alex Shelley€™s old Skull Fuck move then soon after her hair assisted face buster. She comes off the ropes, Mickie ducks under her and drops her with a neck breaker. She reverses Madison again and throws her into the cage twice. Swinging DDT, One, Two, Three! Austin Aries points out backstage that he€™s just talking about what he€™s going to be talking about next. After the break Tara and Velvet congratulate Mickie on her win. Do they even prepare these bits before they film them? Moments ago somewhere else, Emo Hardy is moping around talking about needing that world title. €œThis business is not fair, just like life€™s not fair.€ Emo. Austin Aries graces us with his presence. He says once again it€™s the time of the month where after another successful title defence he declares that no one is in his league. Week in and week out he defeats each and every competitor. He even gets an €œAries€ chant but quickly tells them he doesn€™t need them, he knows hes the greatest man that ever lived. Then he gives the cue and tells the locker room there€™s nobody in there that can beat him. But after that comes MOTOR CITY theme song and ALEX SHELLEY makes his return to the Impact Zone with a microphone. He reminds us that he was gone due to a separated shoulder, then the day he comes back his partner gets injured too depriving the people of them until 2012. He says he€™ll bring back the Guns eventually but €œas far as im concerned you couldn€™t beat the piss out of a urine soaked sponge.€ Aries says he€™s sick of little boys challenging him. €œWell Im sick of having a douche bag for a champion.€ He says last time they wrestled he didn€™t beat him clean. Aries says all he does is ride Sabin€™s coat tails. Shelley says if he€™s no threat then Aries wont have any issue putting his title up against him. Aries is reluctant but says if he wants a shot he has to earn it. He can pick any X Division star and if he wins he has a match. Shelley lets Aries pick and after he wins, he€™ll see Aries at Against All Odds. ODB is giving Eric Young tips when Winter jumps her from behind. They brawl around until Winter smacks her with a pipe then whips her with her belt. Angelina Love (with Winter) vs. Eric Young Angelina dares him to hit her but hes reluctant being a gentleman and all that. Instead he locks up with the referee more than once. Then some fans in his usual stalling routine. Love wont shake his hand so he locks up with the ref AGAIN. Angelina loses it and boots him low causing an immediate disqualification. I think that€™s what would happen if I had to share a ring with that gimmick too. ODB charges down and gets all over Winter until Love jumps her and they beat her down. Young comes around and throws both out of the ring. He helps ODB up and she plants a sloppy one on him. Number One Contender Match: James Storm vs. Jeff Hardy They kick it off with head lock and pin reversals. Then some arm drags. Jeff gets a few clotheslines then his leg drop to the lower regions. Storm avoids a corner charge and we go to a break. When we return it€™s Storms turn to miss a charge, and Jeff sends him to the outside and follows him with a rope vault to the floor on top of Storm. Back in the ring, Storm completely misses a kick to the mid section but still manages to connect with a slingshot suplex. He wears Hardy down with a sleeper until Jeff fights up and gets his Leg Sweep and leg drop compactor pin. Then he gets Whisper in the Wind for a two. Now it€™s Jeff with a wear down sleeper. Storm fights up now and sets up Eye of the Storm, Hardy slips out but cant avoid a sloppy Reverse TKO which is good for a two. Storm sets up for Last Call Kick, Hardy catches him, boot, Twist of Stunner. He goes up top, Storm crotches him. Jeff fights him off sends him to the ring but Storm again gets a shot in. This time the super plex connects. Storm goes for the cover, the ref takes ages to get down there as he waits for Bully Ray to deck him from behind. Bully finally does then takes a chain out and batters both men with it. Earl Hebner runs down and he too gets decked. Ray spits Storm€™s beer at him then goes back on the chain attack. Another referee gets floored. Sting storms to the ring with his ball bat and drives it into Ray€™s stomach and back. He chases Ray to the back. Back in the ring, Roode is now in there and he takes Storm out with his belt, then Hardy. He declares the match a no contest to end the show.
