Top NXT Star WON'T Be Included In WWE's 2024 Draft
It looks like this NXT favourite is staying put on the third brand...at least for now.
Fightful Select is reporting that NXT's Trick Williams is unlikely to play a part in WWE's upcoming 2024 Draft. In fact, the developmental star will probably stay put on the third brand and continue working to improve his game before Raw and SmackDown comes calling.
The report also lifted the lid on backstage sentiment towards Trick. Main roster officials remain high on him, and everybody was impressed with his work opposite Carmelo Hayes in the headline slot at Stand & Deliver over WrestleMania 40 weekend.
However, power players believe Trick's work on NXT hasn't quite peaked yet. Backstage, people think there's a lot more to come from Williams before he leaps to the main roster. That's fair. Williams will wrestle Ilja Dragunov (who is expected to be involved in the Draft) on NXT's Spring Breakin' special next week.
The bout's stipulation does call for Trick to leave NXT if he loses, but it doesn't seem like that's on the cards. This could end up being Williams' biggest moment on WWE's books thus far - he could win the NXT Title. That'd be a huge show of faith in his abilities.
