Top WWE Name Undergoes Surgery
This major WWE SmackDown name has suffered a bicep injury.
WWE's Nick Aldis went under the knife yesterday.
As initially reported by PWInsider, the current SmackDown General Manager suffered a bicep injury that required an operation. Aldis himself has since taken to X to confirm that this injury was a ruptured bicep tendon, but that this will not keep him from appearing as the SmackDown GM.
Yes, I just got out of surgery for a ruptured bicep tendon, and yes, the sheets had it within minutes. God bless 'em. Must be a slow news day...anyway it was a freak accident, I'm on the mend, and I will continue to fulfill my obligations. #SmackDown pic.twitter.com/wawHrsW70H— Nick Aldis (@RealNickAldis) March 20, 2024
Nick Aldis has been an on-screen WWE presence since October of last year, although he'd been working as a producer for the company prior to that; a role that he still maintains alongside his GM gig.
Away from WWE, Aldis has an in-ring career that dates back to 2004. Most notably, the Brit is a former TNA World Champion and, as the National Treasure, was the focal point and two-time Worlds Heavyweight Champion when Billy Corgan's NWA was at its very best. Whether he eventually laces up his boots for WWE remains to be seen, but for now he's been excelling in his SmackDown GM position.
From all of us at WhatlCulture Wrestling, all the best to Nick Aldis on his recovery.
