Top WWE Star Cleared To Return

Great news.

TLC 2009 Sheamus

Very heartwarming news from this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, in which Dave Meltzer writes:

"[Sheamus has] been off and has spinal stenosis, which is not a good thing long-term for a wrestler. But he is ready to return and if a storyline is there, he would be brought back."

Author's note:

The status of the 'Great White' has been a mystery since he last performed for WWE across the final stretch of WrestleMania 35 Weekend.

After losing a six-man tag team match on the April 9 SmackDown, Sheamus vanished as his tag team partner Cesaro ventured out into singles competition. WWE kept silent on the nature of the injury, which generated much, concerned discussion over his in-ring future. His issues with spinal stenosis were well documented, and medical issues of that nature are inherently concerning: it's not a matter of if, but when.

Happily, that "when" isn't now. Sheamus is ready to take the call, and given WWE's apparent insistence on taking the announced brand split seriously - for now - the move frees up space on both shows which, given NXT's crucial early USA run, likely won't manifest as a set of en masse promotions.

That is pure speculation, but good news breeds it.
