Tyson Kidd Undergoing Neck Surgery This Week

The injured star tweets from his hospital bed.

https://twitter.com/KiddWWE/status/613136889252552704 Former WWE tag team champion Tyson Kidd sent out a tweet during Monday's RAW to say that he'll be having surgery on Wednesday. His tweet referenced 36 hours and it was sent out shortly after 8pmET, so that means his surgery would be on Wednesday morning. He mentioned that his best friend - his wife Natalya - is by his side. Kidd has been out of action since June 1st when he worked a dark match with Samoa Joe and he was on the receiving end of a Muscle Buster. He spent the next few days in hospital and it was determined that he needed surgery. Natalya's uncle Bret Hart thinks Joe was reckless in doing the move, although it's been said that Joe doesn't have heat for it. While there's no current timeline on how long Kidd will be out, there are rumors that he'll be undergoing neck fusion surgery similar to what Steve Austin and Edge had in the past. In both of those cases, as well as other wrestlers that have had a similar surgery, they missed about a year of action. Every person and situation is different, though, so until there's a specific timeline announced it's really unknown right now. Natalya, who is off the road from WWE while her husband deals with the injury, did an Instagram post with these words:

Always have TJ's back... Ever since I first met him when I was ten years old. He's truly the LOVE of my life. Gonna get through this and be better than ever. When the going gets tough you realize WHO you can count on and what YOU are made of. You also see more clearly than ever before what's most important in your life.
On behalf of everybody at WhatCulture and those of you reading this, we wish Tyson the best in his recovery from this serious injury. If it teaches us anything, it's that these guys and girls really are putting their bodies on the line to entertain us. It's not an easy job and anybody could be one bump away from something tragic happening.
