UFC Denies Ronda Rousey WWE Deal For WrestleMania 32

Update on Rousey's status for WrestleMania 32.

Ronda Rousey's appearance at WrestleMania 31 was a "one off" according to the UFC. The company tweeted from their @UFCTonight account that "Ronda Rousey does NOT have a deal with the WWE, her WrestleMania appearance was a "one-off"." Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer added that Rousey has "No more WWE for now. There is no deal in place for next year's WrestleMania, but that doesn't mean she wont do it." Clearly, WWE did set the table for a potential Rousey and The Rock Vs Triple H and Stephanie McMahon match. The WrestleMania 31 angle got over huge, which will only make the company even keener to get it booked. It seems likely that WWE will approach the UFC and Rousey about a potential deal at some point. UFC President Dana White did approve Rousey's deal for a segment at WrestleMania 31, but approving a deal for an actual match would be something entirely different. White probably isn't going to be willing to allow his top star work a physical fake fight for WWE. His opinion is probably that it would hurt her credibility. However, he'll have noticed all the press that UFC got for her WWE segment this past week. There's an argument that WWE has boosted Rousey's profile and she'll take some WWE viewers back to the UFC with her. For now, she will be busy preparing for her August fight against Bethe Correia. A WWE deal and further involvement isn't likely to come up for a while.
